Cala Ratjada is a former village on the north-east coast of Mallorca, but has expanded into a very popular holiday resort in recent years with German tourists. There are two beaches, a small one, Playa Son Moll, and the larger Cala Aguilla. Both are on the outskirts of the resort, one to the south and one to the north, yet both are within walking distance.

There is a promenade which stretches from Son Moll to the harbour area, and there is a vast array of restaurants and cafes along the walkway. There are also many quality restaurants in the harbour area. Fish restaurants providing fresh fish daily.

You can catch a ferry daily (except Tuesday) to Menorca from Cala Ratjada harbour. It leaves at 9.15am and returns at 7.30pm. The cost in 2006 was 50€ for a same day return.

There are several shopping streets which offer anything ranging from typical holiday gifts to designer clothes.

There is another small resort called Cala de sa Font 4 kilometres away, but it is linked to Cala Ratjada by a mini road train which runs throughout the day between the two resorts. The round trip costs 3,80€.
